Saarinen revolutionized executive office seating with the introduction of these organic and sculptural desk chairs, reminiscent of the curvilinear lines of his architectural work seen in the TWA terminal at JFK and the St. Louis arch. Constantly pushing material and aesthetic boundaries, Saarinen expanded the modern vocabulary to include curvilinear and organically-inspired forms not found in the work of his predecessors.
